I have spent countless hours pursuing crappie on Rend Lake for nearly 40 years. In the beginning I fished from a 14ft v bow. I bought it for $100 and used a borrowed 5 hp outboard. I didn’t even have a drivers license. Now I fish from a 20 I class Skeeter with a 250 Yamaha. Times have changed and so has the crappie fishing on Rend Lake. Once considered a “Dink Hole”, Rend has become one of the best crappie lakes in the state. It continues to improve each year in both quantity and quality crappie. A typical day’s limit, ( 10 fish over 10″ and 15 under ), will have several fish over 12 inches. On a good day you could expect to have your overs all above 12″ and even some 13″ & 14″ fish. I really enjoy showing folks how to catch crappie. I will do my best to see that you have a great time! Bob Shafer
